Gameshark 2 V 1.3 stopped working :/?

Ok, here is the deal. I have a Gameshark, right? So I have used it in the past with a little trouble (Which was starting it up) and it always worked after about 5 tries, on the bad days. So, I buy THAW (Tony Hawk's American Wasteland), and of course, everyday I get a new game, I always have to use some codes. So I put in a (M) code, put in 2 codes, and I thought I was set. That was until I restarted the Gameshark. It wouldn't work at all. It was giving me disk read errors and such. So, I went to my friends to try to get my problem resolved. (He had a Gameshark v1.3 as well, and an AR Max) So he let me have his GS and AR because he plays ps3 more often, so I go home, and for some reason, the other Gameshark won't work either. Then I pop in AR, like magic, it works the first time. So I am like, "Yay..." and I put some codes in. Restart it, and GUESS WHAT? AR started messing up as well. I have 4 ps2s in my house. 1, Mine, another, my sister's, 3rd, my mom's, and 4th, my brothers. I have lots of experimenting to do. So I pop in the GS in my mom's ps2, messes up still. But when I put the AR in, it works, so I test out the codes, and the result was nothing. So, as you could guess, I am pretty pissed. This was a long time ago. Like months ago. That is how long I have been waiting to get some codes on THAW...and I know CB is better and all, but I need to save up my money for that, and I am guessing that it will **** up just like my GS and AR. The friend that gave me his GS and AR had a CB at one time, but the CB was the first of the 3 to actually stop working. So, Idk if wasting my money (Again) would be a smart idea. Idc though, I guess I would have to try it out eventually.
