Is this normal for a kitten?

we just got a7 week old kitten yesterday and it cried for a while and is not as playful as i'd thought it would be.. could it just be that he's scared, how long util they usully start playing? and today he cried so much this morning i tried feeding him but he didn't want it, he'd just come to me crying and start climbing on me
